At the beginning, the state management in natural resource and environmental sector in the province faced numerous difficulties as the Department functions in various sectors, most of which were complicated and sensitive. Thanks to attention and proper leadership of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee, Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and great efforts and solidarity of the public officials and employees, the Department has well fulfilled the assigned tasks and duties. Over the past time, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has grown up and made positive contributions to socio-economic development of the province with some outstanding results as follow:

     Apparatus organization has been increasingly reinforced when competence, qualification, experience and professionalism of the public officials and employees have been improved. Currently, the Department has 15 affiliated divisions and units with 192 public officials and employees. Of which, 97 percent of the public officials have bachelor and post graduate degrees (including 65 percent of master degrees) and 3 percent graduated from colleges and vocational schools. Besides, the Department has strong party committee, trade union and youth union.

     In professional work: Promulgation of documents to realize the guidelines of the Party Committee and policies of the State is defined significant to improve administrative efficiency and effectiveness; hence, the Department has proactively advised the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee to issue many programs, plans, resolutions and directives in the fields of land management, mineral resources, water resources and environmental protection contributing to enhancing efficiency of administration on natural resources and environment for the cause of socio-economic development in the province.

       Administrative reform has been paid due attention. In order to improve efficiency, the Department has directed application of the quality management following ISO standards. Besides, it implements effective control of administrative procedures, performs administrative services following one-stop-shop mechanism in accordance with law.

     Looking back its journey, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment is honored and proud of its increasing development and significant contributions to the development of the province. The achievements have been gained thanks to close leadership and direction of the provincial Party Committee, People’s Council and People’s Committee, timely guidance of the Ministry of  Natural Resources and Environment, effective collaboration among departments, agencies, unions and people’s committee of the districts and city, joint efforts of organizations, businesses and ceaseless efforts and solidarity of public officials and employees of the Department in different periods.

      With the gained achievements, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment has been rewarded by the Government, Minister of Natural Resources and Environment and Chairperson of the provincial People’s Committee for many consecutive years. Particularly, the Department was awarded Third class Labor Medal by the State President in 2013, emulative flag by the Government in 2015 while a number of collectives and individuals have been rewarded by the provincial Party Committee, People’s Committee and Ministry of  Natural Resources and Environment.

       In order to promote the gained results, the Department of Natural Resources and Environment will strive and take initiative to overcome all difficulties to excellently fulfill the tasks and duties to deserve the trust placed by the Party, Government and people, enrich the tradition of the sector and meet the requirements in the new context.
